Developed to take Ragwort out by the Roots

The Rag-Fork was devised over 3 years ago by Derrick Marsden who has been involved with breeding, exhibiting and competing with horses and ponies for more than 30 years.

Recognizing the increasing danger that ragwort poses to horses and other livestock he decided that there had to be a better way to remove ragwort than pulling it by hand. Faced with this task, he spent many months developing and testing a wide range of prototypes which resulted in the development of the new Rag-Fork - which was launched at last years 'Root out ragwort campaign'.

Nicola Gregory, the instigator and leader of the 'Root out Ragwort campaign' has said of the product 'The BHS support complete weed control and welcome anything that will help horse owners to keep their fields free from ragwort'.

The Rag-Fork has been specifically designed to remove ragwort by its roots and innovatively uses a leverage elbow so that the weed and its roots can be removed easily and with little effort. As a result, the Rag-Fork can be used by alt ages, from 7-70. It is also light enough and small enough to be carried round, and even used as a walking stick, whilst inspecting fields and animals so that any ragwort that is identified can be removed there and then.

Mrs Burrows from Warwickshire said of her fork, 'I was impressed with how easy the Rag-Fork is to use and how efficiently it removed the plants, it is certainly easy to use and fight, as the kids have used it more titan I have.'

Recent research has also found that the Rag-Fork can lift out many other common field weeds including thistles and docks as Mrs Allen from Nottingham commented, 'The ragwort comes out really quick and easy, I have even removed docks with it and it does bring out the roots.'

The Rag-Fork is very tough so it works really well on the hardest of soils. The Rag-Fork also has a lifetime guarantee.

We have been absolutely delighted at the reception this new product has received from horse owners, wanting an effective and practical method for removing ragwort from their fields and the threat to thefr animals, all those who have used the product have been very pleased with the results and the ease of use of the Rag-Fork.
